Dr Misbau Lateef
Biography | Dr. Misbau Alamu Lateef is a law lecturer at the University of Hull Law School, UK, where he teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses, including Law of Business Organisations, UK and Transnational Commercial Law, and Trusts Law. He equally leads the foregoing modules. He joined Hull in 2022 after completing a post-doctoral fellowship at the Columbia Centre on Sustainable Investment, Columbia Climate School, Columbia Law School, Columbia University, N.Y., USA (2021-2022). Dr. Lateef holds a PhD and M.Phil. in Law from Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Nigeria, an LL.M. from the University of Lagos, and an LL.B. from OAU. As a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria since 2008, he has had extensive legal practice experience in various courts in Nigeria. Dr. Lateef's academic career includes eight years of teaching at OAU, where he taught courses that included company law, energy law, conflict of laws, equity and trusts, and Islamic law. His primary research focuses on corporate law and governance, with a current interest in ESG issues. He has published scholarly articles and book chapters in his field. Dr. Lateef's achievements since joining Hull in January 2022 include attaining Associate Fellowship (AFHEA) and Fellowship (FHEA) of AdvanceHE UK, recognising his contributions to teaching and research in higher education. His international experience also includes attendance and presentation at international conferences and a pre-doctoral visiting scholarship at Columbia Law School in 2018. |
