Project Description
Citizen Science is a concept that allows non-scientists to contribute to scientific research. We are aiming to apply this concept to environmental analysis, where non-professionals can carry out locally a simple to operate analytical measurement of an environmental matrix and feed the results to a central team of scientists. Paper microfluidic, dip stick type devices are an attractive platform for such tests, as liquid move through capillary forces and a colourimetric readout can be recorded through a photograph and distributed.
