Hedgerows: Mapping the Gaps
People Involved
Project Description
The study will create an interactive map of the East Riding region with hedgerows and gaps mapped using geographic information systems and machine learning. Publicly available imagery will be used to ‘train’ a machine learning algorithm to recognise hedgerows, gaps, trees and access points. A databank of high-resolution surveys of hedges and gaps will also be created, providing additional high resolution data to extend the scope and utility of the tools created.
