This application requests support for the additional research costs to augment a British Academy / Leverhulme Trust Senior Research Fellowship (SRF), 2022-23, entitled: ‘Colonial Science’, the production of space and its afterlives in Italian North Africa.
This application is directed at the Society for Libyan Studies (a BA British International Research Institute). My SRF emerged from an earlier grant from the BA's SLS (‘Colonial Science’ and the production of comprehensible territory in Italian Libya), and the BA now request that I apply to the SLS grants scheme for the small travel funds for this larger SRF (which does not include travel costs).
To support the wider SRF in 2022-23, I need to apply for a further six weeks of archival time to allow me to finalise the additional archival material that emerged in 2019.
