The aim of the proposed ‘hop’ is to examine the potential to incorporate the Behaviour Change Wheel (Michie, Atkins, & West, 2014) into the (Psy)CliMuse project. (Psy)CliMuse has emerged from the Music and Environment research group within the Centre for Applied Research in the Arts. It explores the ways in which music can be used to assist with the behavioural changes necessary to promote limited climate warming and foster a resilient and healthy environment. Existing work has explored the potential intersections between research in music psychology and behavioural models from environmental psychology that explore environmental decision-making (Prior, 2022). This work has received considerable attention (as of 14/11/22 it is the fifth most-read article from the journal Music and Science within the last six months) and has prompted cross-disciplinary collaboration between EEI, Psychology, Chemistry, and Music within the University of Hull, as well as external enquiries and invitations. One model not examined within this work is the Behaviour Change Wheel (Michie et al., 2014). The objective of the hop is to provide time and guidance to explore this model through an online 4-week course and time to assess the potential for the integration of music psychology research in the processes involved.
