2nd Gen - Abandoned Building Tour
People Involved
Project Description
Overall Project Value: £29,787
The project involves the presentation of seven audio pieces exploring the theme of contemporary exhaustion, supported by an urbex (urban exploration) specialist, a scenographer, a videographer and two researchers. Five abandoned buildings representing significant communal heritage have been identified to host the pieces. A permissions and clearance strategy with site owners is in place, and for public safety reasons the performances will be accessible online only by live-streaming a series of videos. A collection of impulse responses/reverbs of each building - essentially the sound of the building itself, will also be created and shared at workshops at various community venues and with creative researchers to further explore the sonic heritage with the local community.
