Project Description
Building on previous EU funded projects, IMMERSE aims, through a series of research strands, to deliver: a range of practical solutions to key areas of estuairne management (e.g. methods for compensating habitat loss, reduction in tidal amplitude from fairway deepening); better transnational co-operation in estuary management and sharing of experience and best practice; better stakeholder understanding and integration in the management process. IMMERSE will include partners from a series of NSR estuaries including Humber (IECS lead), Tees, Elbe, Weser, Ems, Scheldt & Gota Alv.
