Achieving climate neutrality in Europe requires a transformative approach to energy use in buildings and industries. A major challenge is the low integration between their energy systems. Additionally, energy supply instability, fluctuating prices, and supply chain disruptions make it essential for buildings-industry community energy systems to be inclusive, flexible and adaptive. To address these challenges, a collaborative research team aims to develop an “Assessment and Optimisation Framework for Industry-Community Energy Link to uplift Energy Efficiency, Dependency and Resilience” which will enhance energy efficiency, carbon reduction, and cost-effectiveness at community level.
