Project Description

Analysis of benthic macro-invertebrate samples, and subsequent data analysis and reporting.

Natural England have collected 34 x 0.01m² intertidal core samples from the Holderness MCZ and these samples will subsequently require analysis for species abundance, data analysis and reporting. These samples will require processing in accordance with the National Marine Biological Analytical Quality Control (NMBAQC) scheme guidelines (Worsfold et al 2010 ).

All benthic macrobenthic samples will be processed to NMBAQC standards. Species names will be run through WoRMS ‘Match Taxa’ tool to ensure names are current. Any rare or scarce marine species will be highlighted in the data.
