This paper tries to embark on a comprehensive study on the diffusion of intellectual capital management practices associated with development of innovation architecture in High-tech SMEs located in science parks. The main objective of this study is to explore the potential dynamics of co-specialisation opportunities within business ecosystems of science parks, being generated by ranges of co-evolution and diffusion opportunities among onsite high-tech SMEs and between them and science park management, for the development of intellectual capital exploitation practices. To achieve this goal, the method of an interdisciplinary and systematic review of 93 key empirical research employed and reported. This paper seeks to construct a conceptual model of determinants of coevolution opportunities associated with diffusion of intellectual capital management practices among the tenant SMEs, by bringing forward a common basis of understanding among different parties and stakeholders involved within the business ecosystem of science parks. Such model will reflect complementarity aspects of organisational, strategic and technological choices in SMEs and possible results of policy adjustments for operationalizing the diffusion of intellectual capital management. Moreover, this study helps to understand the extent to which intellectual capital management is adopted by SMEs, and to ascertain factors and policy that can contribute and impede the adoption of intellectual capital management practices.
