Biography Marianne has worked extensively in heritage (Doors Open Days/European Heritage days Co-ordinator for Scotland 2003-06) and taught in adult education in Hull, St Andrews, Edinburgh and Perth. She also worked as a guest lecturer on river cruises in Russia.

She has also worked in academic administration at the University of Glasgow, and was a member of the research team on the Cullen Project, digitising the consultation letters of Professor William Cullen.

After returning to Hull in 2017, she has worked in the Graduate School and as an invigilator, and as a research support administrator in HYMS. She is also a freelance consultant and lecturer in historical, archaeological and art historical research and interpretation.
Research Interests The Aleramici of Montferrat in the Crusader states;
Historiography, history painting and historical fiction/film;
Portraiture in the French Revolution;
Church monuments;
Mediaeval art and architecture;
Troubadour and trouvere culture.
