A cross country examination of supply chain barriers on market access for small and medium firms in India and UK
People Involved
Project Description
The proposed study aims to address supply chain barriers that prevent small and medium firms in the UK to access Indian markets and vice versa. In his last visit to India, British Prime Minister David Cameron made it clear that the UK aims to double its bilateral trade with India by 2015. Such ambitious targets can only be achieved if we better understand the role of supply chain barriers hindering trade between the two countries. The aim of this research is to identify, compare and contrast the type and nature of supply chain barriers in India and UK. It will also suggest effective measures that would allow such firms to cope with restrictive supply chain barriers. We will first build an analytical framework using primary and secondary sources of information. Thereafter, we will adopt both quantitative and qualitative methods of analysis to examine the supply chain barriers.
