An evaluation of the CAMS - Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality
Project Description
This study will conduct the first evaluation of the psychosocial impact of a new therapeutic framework (Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality - CAMS) on patients and clinicians in the National Health Service (NHS). CAMS, developed in the US, has an established evidence-base for reduced suicidality, self-harm and increased clinician confidence in dealing with these issues (Comtois et al., 2011; Ellis et al., 2012; Jobes et al., 2009). This study will determine the feasibility of this approach and will ultimately provide key evidence to inform a future randomised controlled trial to establish the effectiveness of the CAMS approach in the UK.
